Patch Lining Works

How does patch lining work?

A piece of resin-impregnated glass-fibre matting is placed onto an inflatable packer and positioned. Once in the desired location, the packer is inflated and held in place for the duration of the curing process (approximately 2 hours). This leaves a watertight and permanent pipe repair solution.
Fast and effective drain and sewer repair, Patch lining provides a fast, less intrusive and cost-effective drain repair solution compared with traditional excavation methods.

Why choose patch lining?

  1. It’s accurate: Patch liners can be used to refurbish localized drainage problems, so there’s no need to replace the entire pipe

  2. It’s cost-effective: Patch lining uses trenchless, or no-dig technology to repair the pipe, so is less intrusive

  3. It’s fast: There’s no need for messy and disruptive excavation; the job is completed fast, meaning less inconvenience for you

  4. Solutions to problem drainage: such as under buildings or in no dig areas i.e production lines

Our specialist drain liner can withstand most corrosive chemicals which is discharged into your drainage systems. The patch is wrapped around special equipment that can be inflated and inserted into the damaged drain, then expanded onto the existing pipe and left to set hard. Following curing the equipment is deflated and removed, leaving the patch in place.

Flexible sewer repair solutions

Prestige Flow can patch line pipes ranging from 100 to 1200mm in diameter, so whatever your project, you can rest assured we will find the solution.
Patch liners are used as a chosen method of repair where defects are evident within a certain section of sewer or drainage system. The patch liner system is generally used when there is a particular isolated defect or there are multiple defects within a shorter section area of pipe work.
These areas can be remotely accessed generally through one point of entry such as an existing manhole chamber. Patches can also be overlapped to achieve rehabilitation over greater distances where access may be an issue to install a full-length liner. Inflatable packers are used to allow flows to continue to pass through the system whilst the patch liner has been inserted in the defective areas allowing the continued use of the system, which reduces the impact on customers, allowing continued use of their internal facilities.
